Item of the Day: Hive and Honey’s Truffle Booties

I’ve been needing a basic pair of peep toe booties and found these Hive and Honey Truffle ones. Between the ruffle detail and low price point, they seem to be ideal for being fashion-y at work. My only sticking point is that booties in general remind me of these shoes I had in 6th grade that I literally wore to a nubbin, and I’m afraid I’m going to put them on my feet and be mentally transported back to my dorky years.

Item of the Day: Jantzen’s Ruched Vamp One-Piece Swimsuit

Confronted with a bachelorette party in Las Vegas in October and my own reluctance to eat only egg whites until then, I am in dire need of a cute bathing suit that will a) look good with tons of costume jewelry and ridiculous poolside heels, and b) be kind even after a night of binging on chicken fingers at the all-you-can-eat buffet.

Some years back Chanel had a foldover motorcycle boot that I still hopefully search Ebay for from time to time. While Chie Mihara’s Arts boots might not have those beloved Chanel quilting details, I’ll definitely be stalking them until (fingers crossed) they get marked down to a price that doesn’t make me wince.

Sometimes an item can’t be described in words so much as in sighs, and this Haute Hippie dress is one such piece. Sigh.

Nanette Lepore’s aptly named Hollywood Wrap top, with its sensuous but not overly revealing silhouette, has a nice vintage glamour look, and I love the smoke color.

Item of the Day: Steve Madden’s Markee Pumps

I haven’t really gotten around to buying some basic, silly black shooties that could possibly be semi-appropriate for business settings, but these Steve Madden Markee heels are just cheap enough to make me happily pull the trigger.

There is also a plum version, and while I am all about purple shoes for fall, I am a little iffy if this particular pair strikes too much of a Puss-in-Boots-y note. My fear of looking like Puss-in-Boots is only slightly outweighed by my fear of sharks.
