Jimmy Choo Does Wellies

Looks like puddle jumping is going couture. From The New York Post:

We love group efforts…but nothing is more exciting than our latest obsession: Hunter & Jimmy Choo.

The functional but cool British Wellie company and the sexy stiletto maker have partnered for the ultimate in rainy-day style — crocodile-printed rubber galoshes with gold hardware.

While the sleek puddle jumpers in black — $395 exclusively at Jimmy Choo stores and jimmychoo.com — don’t hit stores till June 1, and the purply merlot pair aren’t expected until early next week, phone preorders start today (call 866-JCHOOUS) and online May 1 on the company’s Web site.

I adore Wellies, and Hunters in particular (to date I own three pairs). I’ll pull them on at the slightest hint of a raincloud, which irks my husband to no end. Clearly he doesn’t understand a) the vast ocean of general comfort that lies between men’s and women’s shoes, and b) that most of my cute shoes are not meant to get wet, like, ever. Sliding on a pair of those comfy rubber boots and paying no regard to what I step in is my own little piece of heaven.

I wonder if he would object to the Choo preview pair on the left. I wouldn’t call putting a croc print on a pair of Hunters to be the most innovative design idea ever, but I still think they are pretty f*&ing fantastic.
