Rachel Zoe to Launch Affordable Label
Insert “I die” joke here. From People Magazine:
The ultimate celebrity stylist is finally lending her talents to us regular gals. In between filming her Bravo show, The Rachel Zoe Project, and styling Hollywood’s hottest stars, including Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner, Cameron Diaz and Demi Moore, Rachel Zoe tells PEOPLE.com that she is also working on a full-range clothing line that won’t break the bank.
“It will be absolutely, 100% accessible fashion for sure — for everybody. There’s no reason for me to do a luxury-level design. That’s not who I am. I don’t think it’s what people want from me. I think that I would need to give people that fantasy becoming a reality. That’s my job,” Rachel said at an event last night at L.A’s designer resale shop DecadesTwo, where she cleaned out her closet to benefit Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.
While details for Rachel’s collection are still under wraps, she promises a complete line that includes jewelry, clothing, bags and fragrance.
Despite my ambivalent feelings about Zoe as a stylist (I think her success rate on the carpet is so-so given her insane resources), I’m curious to see what she comes up with design-wise for her line. She didn’t get to where she is by being a dummy, and low price points are definitely the way to go, especially with celebrity helmed projects.
I guess we’re also about due for a new season of “The Rachel Zoe Project.” I admittedly did not watch the season in its entirety (I have to pick my TV battles with my husband, and frankly, it was not worth trading a “Modern Marvels” marathon for), but I still love the glorious crankiness that was Taylor.
