$A Lot of Look: Mary-Kate Olsen at the Metropolitan Opera’s 125th Anniversary Gala When I first saw the thumbnails of Mary-Kate Olsen at the Met, I assumed I was looking at Courtney Love. It was mostly all the hair in the face that threw me off: I am used to the Olsens’ schlumpy chic but this is not quite Mary-Kate’s usual birdlady style. Beyond the messy hair, I really don’t find anything terribly wrong with red lips, a dramatic black dress, and metallic accessories. She just needs to scrape off about half of the Elizabethan lead paint that she’s doused herself in.
