Item of the Day: Alice + Olivia’s Samantha Striped Sequin Tee

Fashion, like architecture, is a utilitarian art. There is a certain basic human need element that other genres of art lack. Despite this, some of the most appealing items of apparel are those that we least “need” in the practical sense.

Exhibit A: this Alice + Olivia sequined striped top. Beyond the fact that on a primordial level I really only require the most basic of coverings, it’s also not all that tough to find a little black and white striped shirt for under $30.

But, ohhhhhhhhhhhh. THIS one. This little striped shirt, with its sequins and gorgeous drape makes my grasping heart flutter. If I ever strike it big my closet will be full of such wonderful, useless things.
