Sale Roundup
Some of our favorite new sale items from around the WWW. This week we’re obsessed with stripes, tassels, sequined skirts, and the somewhat messy and impractical.
The Clothes

I’m not always a huge fan of the animal prints (mostly because I fear that I’ll end up looking less Bettie Page, more OC housewife), but I am all kinds of in love with Haute Hippie’s Elsa Cheetah Jacket. I adore the draped sleeves and single closure at the neck, and the cropped shape keeps it fresh and young. Originally $365; now $255.50.

Another guilty pleasure in the form of LaRok’s Camo Sequin Skirt, marked down to $158.99 from $228. I love me a sequined skirt, especially when paired with a plain tee or menswear-inspired jacket, and the camouflage print is wonderfully obnoxious. A more practical (as practical as a sparkly skirt can be) and affordable option is…

…Banana Republic’s Monogram sequin skirt. On sale at $99.99 (originally $120).

Carmen Marc Valvo’s Sequin Stripe Dress makes me want to chop off my hair, fly to Paris and have a Jean Seberg moment. Alas, the strapless shape and sequins which make it so darling would likely render it terrifying on my curves, and at $566 (down from $755), equally terrifying for my wallet. A good alternative would be…

…Y-3’s Border Striped Tank Dress, which has an easier silhouette, easier price tag ($76 down from $190), and can double as a tunic over jeggings, tights or leggings. Either of these striped dresses would look super cute paired with…
…Shoshanna’s jacquard tux jacket, with its balance of formal fabrication and informal cropped shape. Originally $350, now $192.99.

Mirco Giovannini’s Bow Sweater takes a potentially stuffy detail and makes it delightfully messy and sensuous. Price halved from $270 from $540.

Velvet by Graham & Spencer’s Dale Linen Foil Sweater, with its longer silhouette and flutter sleeves, is a dressy alternative to the classic white tee. Now $75.50 (originally $128).
The Shoes
Looking like a 1960s Italian bombshell, Bettye Muller’s Twirl t-strap sandals could have stepped out of La Dolce Vita. Originally $395; now $137.99.

Steve Madden’s Carlsen is a great basic foldover bootie with a price tag that won’t have you fainting when you inevitably gum up the suede. Now $39.97 (originally $89).

Despite my nearly all encompassing love of tassels, shooties and Elizabeth and James, I’ll be the first to acknowledge that these Elisa peep toe wedges are a bit borderline. I blame the feathers, which make the shoe go a little too far into moccasin territory - but a simple snip snip of the scissors could fix that. On sale at $245 (originally $350).
The Accessories

Love the updated Art Deco appeal of these French Connection earrings. Marked down to $18.47 from $27.70.

With its circular shape and tassel details, Pour La Victoire Twiggy is more than just a little black purse. Originally $155; now $95.

Equally classic and edgy, By Malene Birger’s Essa Belt is a little bit equestrian, a little bit S&M. Reduced to $168 (originally $240).

These Erickson Beamon earrings give a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘denim and diamonds.’ Originally $315; now $189.
